The Timekeeper
Useful to remind ourselves of the known unknowns of time. Dr Demetrios Matsakis talks about knowing lots about time but also admits that so much is unknown. I'm drawn to this subject for a number of reasons, mainly because of the work I do, and time, or lack of, coming up on a regular basis. I had a conversation with Emily this morning about industrial revolutions, and the last one including lots of constraints around time - people clocking in, not being allowed time to rest or breathe. It seems we haven't come that far in our current revolution, think about Amazon pickers being timed to the second when they get your order for books. If you are the master of your time, you do to some extent have control over what you do and when. But with that comes your other arch enemy, Count Procrastinator, breathing down your neck with all sorts of reasons why the washing up should be done at that precise moment in time.
