A few new bits on my Beyond Work project

I've ended up with a bit of a backlog of films to develop, interviews to edit and web pages to update for Beyond Work. I began that work over the Christmas and New Year period, with the addition of two shoots, one in a coffee shop and the other on the icy cold streets in Halifax the day after boxing day. The photograph above is from that shoot, a morning spent with a team of refuse collectors on one of the busiest days of their year. I had quite a few films to develop and got through half of them last week, still quite a few to do, and then they have to be scanned and de-dusted.

I've also begun work on the words and stories, which will come from the video interviews I do with each person before the photography starts. I'm really excited to see how the words work with the images and am really keen to keep the balance right.

All of this is happening whilst working on my new thing which is launching soon. It's called Fieldwork and is an ethnographic research service for any company that wants to reveal and understand it's culture so it can support it's people to do amazing work. It uses some of the experiences I've had with Beyond Work and People Who Do, and I'm very excited about it.
