From Clapham to Gaping Gill

Ticked off 2 quite interesting places on Sunday. Gaping Gill (Ghyll) is a 98 metre pothole, and once a year the local pothole society erect a crane and metal seat and lower people down. By the time we arrived at midday the waiting time was 6 hours and they had to stop selling tickets. There were a lot of disappointed faces.

We consoled ourselves with a tour of Ingleborough cave where I met one of the best tour guides ever.

It's hard to describe his mannerisms and one liners and to do it the justice it deserves. I really recommend the tour if you ever visit this part of the world, both for his character and the beauty beneath the ground.
