C2C journal - Day 1

After a hearty breakfast in St Bees we set off up and over the cliffs with the obligatory dip in the sea.  

It felt like a long day with 25k hiked and 1000m climbed. 

We ended up in a small piece of land next door to the Fox and Hounds pub in Ennerdale Bridge. Minutes after arriving and just as we were pitching our tent, the rain started, and continued till about midnight. I could hear the stream next to us getting louder and louder through the night.
