After years of not creating any music, I’ve got myself a Teenage Engineering OP-1 synth. I’m normally the first to say it’s not about having loads of equipment or shiny things in the studio. But, this is a beautifully designed thing. From its metal chassis to the little details in the OLED screen, it’s one of the most intuitive pieces of sound equipment I’ve ever used. So now the challenge, to actually make some sounds that constitute being called music.
